The accompanying video is funny, and oh so true. I know from personal experience that we all have gone through that moment when you just cannot stay awake in church. Sometimes our attempts at fighting it is hilarious from blinking like a madman, reading the bulletin going to the washroom numerous times, resting one eye at a time.

Whatever the reason for our exhausted state, late night movies,  making it to church straight from work, or making it to church after a busy weekend. We all sacrifice part of our day off to make it to church on a Sunday morning. I think our Pastor is the one who is the most exhausted after a night/s of prayer and preparation, Which had already started straight after the previous weeks sermon.

I can just imagine how amused our Father must be in heaven, watching Christians across the world on a Sunday morning. From people's lip-sync to the song when it reaches that unreachable note, parents keeping a straight face when their kids say or do something unexpected to preachers preaching louder and louder as people start to nod off, to the deep snore out of one of the pews ( usually followed by a gasp after being elbowed in the ribs by a spouse or parent- teenagers included)

Sadly the way we often see our service to God, is as One or two hours at church on a Sunday. This is not always enough to ignite a fire in our soul. Christianity didn't start with big church meetings it started with Love, Sacrifice, Healing, Prayer, witness and fellowship.

Yes, hearing that sermon on a Sunday is good for our christian walk, it encourages us, teaches us, brings us closer to God. But we also need to take what we have learned out into the Harvest field.

The Believers Form a Community

42 All the believers devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, and to fellowship, and to sharing in meals (including the Lord’s Supper), and to prayer.

43 A deep sense of awe came over them all, and the apostles performed many miraculous signs and wonders. 44 And all the believers met together in one place and shared everything they had. 45 They sold their property and possessions and shared the money with those in need. 46 They worshiped together at the Temple each day, met in homes for the Lord’s Supper, and shared their meals with great joy and generosity—47 all the while praising God and enjoying the goodwill of all the people. And each day the Lord added to their fellowship those who were being saved.
