If you were asked what Jesus looked like, what would be your response? Close your eyes and try it. No write down what you see. Now I want you to think how that description compares to what the Bible says, how your parents appear to you, now you feel about yourself, lifes circumstances, your local church, cynical friends, someone that has hurt you? Does your pain and hurt define how you see Jesus?

But we are to align our thinking to what the word of God says. If we align our picture and perception with us and people we will get a distorted image or God. Now if we align our picture with what the word says we will see Him differently, but that will be hard if you don't believe what the word of God says. He is full of truth, grace - John 1:14, not condemning - Romans 8:1, advocates for us - 1 John 2:1, trustworthy guide - Luke 1:79, friend of sinners - Matthew 11:19, a watchful shepherd - John 10:11.

Come to know the true Lord what loves you outrageously. When I see God the way He says He is then healing and strength and knowledge of Him comes. It heals the distortion. God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good? Numbers 23:19. Begin to repaint the picture of Jesus to look like the truth - the Word of God. You will be amazed what it does for you.
